Visualization of Movie Ratings

Description of Idea:
The University of Minnesota assembled a data set of films and user submitted ratings. It might be interesting to develop a new visualization communicating a film's 'likability' as related to other films. Perhaps this could be portrayed by varying size or it's position on the screen. The app should also support search to show a particular movie of interest.

Description of Data:
Different sized datasets are available here: http://www.grouplens.org/taxonomy/term/14 It would be cool if we can develop something that is capable of handling the 10,000 movie database (10M ratings).

Additional Information: My Skills: I'm pretty comfortable developing in Objective-C and have a background in multimedia design. I'm a part-time student, so I can't work on this during the day.
